1. Step-by-Step Status Check (2026 Portal)

Follow this path to see exactly what the Department sees:

  1. Login: Access your ImmiAccount.
  2. Open Application: Click on your current visa application (e.g., Subclass 485).
  3. View Details: Select the “View details” link on the application summary page.
  4. Health Assessment: On the left-hand sidebar menu, click the “Health assessment” tab.
  5. Status Check: Look for the “Status” field under each applicant’s name.

2. Decoding the 2026 Status Messages

The Department uses specific phrases to indicate where your medical sits in the pipeline:

Status MessageWhat it Actually Means in 2026
“Health clearances provided – no action required”The Gold Standard. Your results are accepted and valid. No further medical steps are needed for this visa.
“Health assessment in progress”Processing. Bupa has uploaded the results, and they are either being synced or have been referred to the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC).
“Examinations required”Action Needed. You either haven’t done the exam yet, or your previous results have expired (exceeded the 12-month limit).
“Incomplete”Technical Lag. The system has detected a HAP ID but is waiting for the full clinical report from Bupa.

3. The “View eMedical” Shortcut

If ImmiAccount feels slow, you can check the direct source of the data:

  • In the Health Assessment tab, look for a link that says “View eMedical details.”
  • This will open a pop-up showing exactly which tests (e.g., 501 Medical, 502 Chest X-ray) have been received.
  • In 2026, if you see “Completed” next to every test but the main status is still “In progress,” it simply means a Case Officer hasn’t “finalized” the link yet.

4. 2026 Timeline: From Appointment to “Clearance”

  • Days 1–5: Results are being finalized by Bupa doctors.
  • Days 5–7: Results are uploaded to the eMedical system.
  • Days 7–10: ImmiAccount syncs and shows “Health assessment in progress.”
  • Days 10–14: Final “Health clearances provided” status usually appears (unless referred to an MOC).
