1. The 3-Step Application Process (2026)
You cannot buy this pass at a train station window. You must follow this specific order to receive your 50% discount:
Step 1: Get Your 2026 Code
Log in to your university’s student portal (e.g., my.unimelb, my.monash, or ASK La Trobe). Search for “International Student Travel Pass” and request your unique iUSEpass code.
- Note: Your university will only generate this code once they confirm you are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate course for 2026.
Step 2: Register on the PTV iUSEpass Website
Once you have your code, go to the official PTV iUSEpass portal.
- Create an account using your university email address.
- Upload a photo: You must provide a clear, passport-style headshot that will be printed on your physical travel pass.
Step 3: Choose Your Pass & Pay
Select the duration of your pass (90, 180, or 365 days). After payment is processed, PTV will mail your physical card to your Australian address.
- Delivery Time: Expect 2–3 weeks for delivery in 2026. Do not use a temporary hotel address.
2. 2026 iUSEpass Pricing (Statewide)
In 2026, these passes cover all of Victoria (Zone 1+2 and V/Line regional travel).
| Pass Duration | 2026 Student Price | Estimated Savings |
| 90-Day Pass | $308.00 | $308.00 |
| 180-Day Pass | **$616.00** | $616.00 |
| 365-Day Pass | **$1,112.00** | $1,112.00 |
3. Eligibility Red Flags for 2026
- RMIT Students: As of January 2025, RMIT has withdrawn from the iUSEpass program. If you are an international student at RMIT in 2026, you are not eligible and must pay full fare.
- Postgraduate Students: Masters and PhD students remain ineligible for this pass unless they hold a valid Low Income Health Care Card.
- Exchange Students: If you are on an official exchange program or hold an Australian Awards Scholarship, you are usually eligible for a standard Concession myki instead of the iUSEpass.
4. 2026 “Pro-Tips” for the Pass
- Do Not Renew Old Cards: If you had a pass in 2025, do not try to “top it up.” You must get a new 2026 code and create a new order.
- Statewide Value: Your 2026 iUSEpass now allows you to travel to regional hubs like Geelong, Ballarat, or Bendigo for “free” (included in your pass cost).
- The Under-19 Rule: If you are an international student aged 17 or under as of January 1, 2026, you may be eligible for a Youth myki, which is even cheaper than the iUSEpass.
